The onset of autumn is traditionally marked by the opening of schools. Specifically, for EXELIXI ZOIS, it means the start of educational programs and actions aimed at the beneficiary adolescents and young people living in the Closed Child Protection Institutions. By taking appropriate measures, the Nonprofit Civil Partnership (NPCP) has adapted the whole training schedule and actions so that its beneficiaries continue to display favourable performances.
The achievements of the beneficiary children, in the first year of operation of the Organisation, demonstrate effectively the positive imprint on their lives, which is derived from the holistic approach that is advocated by EXELIXI ZOIS.

Prominent examples are these two of the beneficiary female teenagers, who successfully completed the First Certificate in English exam (Lower), while, throughout the past year, they were transferred from the Intercultural School in which they previously attended to comprehensive High Schools (one in Vocational Lyceum and the other in General Lyceum),.

At the same time, and after a recommendation of the scientific staff of the Organisation, another transfer of a female student took place from a Special Gymnasium to a comprehensive school and consequently to a Vocational Lyceum. This transfer was proposed with the aim of following a specialty, which the student chose, after attending a series of vocational orientation conferences and formal education courses.

Finally, it is of particular importance that a scholarship is to be granted from the Hellenic Open University– pending final approval – to a young female adult, who was being supported by the educational team of EXELIXI ZOIS throughout the previous year and during the completion of her computerized application to tertiary education.
In an unusual year like this one, whereas nothing can be considered obvious and clear, these good news gives us strength and optimism for a better future, especially for our children.

EXELIXI ZOIS

NPCP EXELIXI ZOIS was founded in March 2018 and is addressed to adolescents and young adults or teenagers coming from Closed Child Protection Institutions. Our mission is the EXELIXI ZOIS to assist to the care of teenagers aged 12-17 as well as to pick up the baton of care of the young adults aged 18-25 who come from the Institutions. The result of such a combined action for these young people will be the easy transition from one age bracket to the other, and at the same time gain assistance and psychological support, so they could claim a better future with optimism, balance and knowledge.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) supports EXELIXI ZOIS.
The foundation of EXELIXI ZOIS was made possible with the valuable assistance of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). The SNF, with its founding donation, supports the first steps of the NPCP EXELIXI ZOIS and, in particular, actions for education, sports, artistic and social development as well as the psychological support of young people living in Closed Child Protection Institutions.
